Dr. Julia Carter grew up in North Carolina, attended NCSU for a B.S. degree and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.  She began practicing small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry in Arlington in July, 1982 where she continued working until opening Sacramento Veterinary Hospital in February, 1989.  She and her family have two pets, a Border Terrier named Cleo and a cat named Cho. She has enjoyed working on the expansion of our hospital over the past year to include many new services, including physical rehabilitation and ultrasound. Her time away from the hospital is spent with her son, William. She enjoys reading, hiking, camping and traveling whenever time allows.

Dr. Lydia Megremis is a 1986 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has been an associate veterinarian with our practice since May of 2001. She has completed courses at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Canine Rehabilitation and has begun offering services for Physical Rehabilitation. Her family owns a black cat named Reggie and she is presently in between Golden Retrievers. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading and gardening. 

 

 

About Our Veterinarians and Staff

Dr. Judi Vinch is a 1996 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Vinch returned to our practice in the fall of 2004 after working at a feline hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The Vinch family also shares their home with a Pembroke Corgi named Jack and a cat named Midge. In her spare time she enjoys reading and being outdoors.

Ashley Richards is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who joined our staff in July 2007. She moved to the area from Columbus, Ohio after completing her training at Columbus State. She lives with her two cats, Nobu and Orange and her bird Chiya. Ashley enjoys reading, camping, scuba diving and traveling. 

Eliza Perrotta is a full time veterinary assistant who contributes her many talents wherever they are needed including sometimes speaking French. She wakes up our patients in the morning to find out their needs and assists doctors, staff and clients in the exam room and behind the scenes. She lives with her cat Grimace.   She enjoys reading, cooking and doing calligraphy.

Elvira Mason, our office manager, joined SVHARC in November 2003. She began by working in all positions of the hospital and now is indispensable in keeping our hospital running smoothly. She lives with her husband and their Peekapoo, Maui and her bird Kiley. She spends her spare time sewing, scrapbooking and doing crafts.  She also enjoys line dancing and country music.

Vivian Perea is our full time receptionist. Whether on the phone or in person she is sure to greet our clients with a smile. She is a certified opthalmic assistant, but her love for animals brought her to our practice in August 2007.She loves to spend some of her time assisting the veterinarians whenever she can steal time from being a receptionist. She lives with her Chihuahua, Bandit, two cats, Shannon and Muffin and their Lovebird, Pickles. In her spare time she loves reading, writing and fishing.


 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Debra Nelson, Brenda Morgan, Jennifer Burrows, Heidi Henze-Das, Arendi Compton and Kay Watkins are part time veterinary assistants who also provide compassion and care to patients and clients alike. Without their dedication, presence, flexibility and love we would not be where we are today.
