AAHA

Our Standards of Excellence

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has approved our hospital for Hospital Member status, which means that we have complied with their high standards for excellence in small animal care. Less than 14% of small animal veterinary facilities in the United States are Hospital Members of the Association. AAHA conducts regular inspections to insure compliance with their standards. We have been an accredited AAHA member since 1991.

Dr. Megremis & the underwater treadmill.

Welcome to our home page where you can find information about who we are and what services we provide for our patients and clients. We are excited about our move during the last year to a larger, brighter, state of the art facility. In addition we would like to announce our name change to Sacramento Veterinary Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. Our new name and logo will soon appear prominently displayed on our building which is conveniently located on Richmond Highway (Route 1) near Woodlawn Plantation and Mount Vernon in Alexandria, Virginia.

Whereas our location and name have changed, our dedication to providing high quality, compassionate, friendly and loving care of our patients has not changed. Our experienced veterinarians continue to show their dedication through continuing education and client communication. Our physical rehabilitation services are now being offered by Dr. Lydia Megremis who completed her course work at the University of Tennessee. Please read our article on physical rehabilitation to learn more about how this exciting new treatment is improving the health and comfort of our patients.

Dr. Judi Vinch and Dr. Julia Carter are now offering ultrasound services for selected cases. This service has already helped in the diagnosis and treatment of serious diseases and in confirming pregnancy in breeding patients. By having this service within our hospital we have been able to more rapidly help patients who would otherwise have had to be moved to an outside facility, sometimes with a time delay of days.

We continue to emphasize the dental health of our patients and our new dental radiography equipment allows us to look below the gum line! Our article section will give you more information on the importance of dental health in your pet and how your pet's needs may be met.

We would love to give you a tour of our new facility and to discuss with you how our veterinarians and staff can help your pet live a healthier, happier life. Our boarding facilities are comfortable and roomy and our experienced staff treat our four legged guests as they would their own! Take a few minutes to look inside our web pages for information on our staff, hours, directions, services offered and articles of interest. Thank you for visiting our web site. We look forward to meeting you!
